La célèbre ligne d'arrivée en briques. Dans le passé le circuit était entièrement recouvert de briques (3.2 millions de briques).Voila ce qui reste de ce revêtement.

At one time, the entire 2 1/2 miles of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was paved with brick, (3.2 millions of bricks) hence giving the great racecourse the nickname "The Brickyard." Now, all that remains of the original brick is a one yard wide strip at the start finish line.
昔、ｲﾝﾃﾞｨｱﾅﾎﾟﾘｽ・ﾓｰﾀｰｽﾋﾟｰﾄﾞｳｪｲの全周2 1/2ﾏｲﾙには、（320万個の）煉瓦が敷かれていた為、

ﾆｯｸﾈｰﾑ「ﾌﾞﾘｯｸﾔｰﾄﾞ」と呼ばれていました。

この煉瓦は、今もｽﾀｰﾄ/ﾌｨﾆｯｼｭﾗｲﾝに、幅1ﾔｰﾄﾞだけ残っています。
